There are many hotels in downtown Bochum and we have been in touch with a number of them to make sure there will be enough rooms available for the conference. Feel free to contact any of them and do mention the key word “ISMRC 2023” (or in case of Mercure Hotel “RUB-CERES 2023”) to make sure you get the best prices.

1. H+ Hotel Bochum

H+ Hotel Bochum is located directly between the world-famous musical theater “Starlight Express”, event and congress center “RuhrCongress” and the stadium of local football club VfL Bochum. The beautiful city park (“Stadtpark”), is only a ten-minute walk away.

Single rooms are available for approx. 79 € per night (incl. breakfast buffet). The hotel rooms are air-conditioned and the modern amenities include a TV, a writing desk and WiFi.

Route description Hotel – Main Campus (by public transport)

From the hotel, turn left onto the street “Stadionring”. Follow this road for approx. 300 m until you reach a roundabout. Follow the street “Stadionring” straight ahead. At the bakery “Löscher” keep right to turn onto Castroper Straße. Follow this road to the railway station “Bochum Planetarium”. At this station you can take lines 306, 308 or 316 to Bochum Hauptbahnhof. At Bochum Hauptbahnhof, change to the underground line U35 in the direction of Bochum Querenburg/Hustadt (TQ). You reach the campus (with the station called “Ruhr-Universität”) at the 7th Stop or roughly after 10 minutes. To reach the conference venue (“Veranstaltungszentrum” = VZ), turn right from the subway station, and just walk across campus until you reached the VZ building. There will be signs to guide you along.

2. Wald & Golfhotel Lottental

The 3-star garni hotel is located directly on the green belt in Bochum's south.

Standard single rooms are available for approx. 77 € per night (incl. breakfast) and comfort single rooms for 87 € per night (incl. breakfast). Each room is equipped with a shower, satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. The use of the in-house swimming pool, sauna and fitness area is also included. Parking spaces are available free of charge.

The hotel is located approx. 10 min from the city center and surrounded by a small forest. Ruhr-Universität Bochum is approx. 1 km away and can be reached in 15 min on foot in good weather or alternatively in approx. 5 min by car or bus.

Route description Hotel – Main Campus
By public transport:

Start from the hotel and turn right onto Grimbergstraße. Keep left at the next intersection to reach the street “Im Lottental”. Follow this road to the next intersection and turn left onto “Im Haarmannsbusch”. After 150 m you will see the bus stop “Bochum im Lottental” on the left. Here you can take bus line 370 to the university. Get off at the bus stop “Bochum Ruhr-Universität” and follow the stairs on the left side to get to the main campus.

On foot:

Start from the hotel and turn right onto Grimbergstraße. Keep left at the next crossroads to reach the road “Im Lottental”. After 70 m turn right onto a path through the forest. Follow this path and also keep right at the next fork. Continue straight ahead for about 700 m until you reach the campus entrance. The path leads under two roads and runs parallel to the campus. Then take the stairs to the left and walk between the higher buildings to reach the main campus.

3. GHOTEL hotel & living Bochum

Ruhr-Universität Bochum is 8 km away from the hotel. It can be reached by public transport with a change in approx. 30 min.

The tram stop “Jacob-Mayer-Straße” is located directly at the hotel. Here you can take lines 302, 305 or 310 to Bochum main station. 4. Ibis Hotel Bochum Zentrum

Ibis Hotel Bochum Zentrum is located in the heart of the city, very close to the Main Station.

5. Mercure Hotel Bochum City

The 4-star Mercure Hotel Bochum is located in Bochum's city center, directly opposite Bochum's main railway station. The modern standard rooms at the Mercure Hotel offer attractive design in warm, elegant wood tones. You can stay here comfortably on 21 m² in the heart of the city.

To get there, cross the intersection from the main entrance of the hotel and follow the signs to the main station.
